Ceylon
(Sri Lanka) is an idyllic, lush island located in the warm
waters of the Indian Ocean. This pearl-drop paradise offers a
vast array of natural resources, varied landscapes and climates
making it a great location to grow tea, coffee and spices. The
Island was constantly converted by European empires between 1500
and 1948. The Dutch, Portuguese and British colonized the island
of Ceylon consecutively for over 400 years. These
western cultures blended with the culture, customs and cuisine of
the Ceylonese people that resulted in Ceylon becoming famous
for producing some of the world's best teas, spices and Ceylon’s
best kept secret..... A naturally evolved fusion cuisine that
masterfully blends the cuisines of the Dutch, Portuguese and
British with that of the Ceylonese.
